Crackdown on tenancy fraud
Crackdown on tenancy fraud
The Government has announced that it is investing £19 million to help councils to identify and prosecute tenancy fraud. This is all part of a wider scheme to free up council housing by targeting people who are illegally subletting or making false applications for council housing.
Councils have also been given new powers to force other organisations to provide them with information about people who are suspected of fraud.
If you find yourself at the centre of an investigation then it is vital to seek legal advice at the earliest possible stage. We have the knowledge and experience to minimise the risk of prosecution and work tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for each of our clients.
